Our work in Belarus

Belarus, formerly Byelorussia, is an immaculately clean country with little evidence of crime or violence and a near unending level of building development work.

However, it is an authoritarian state with limited freedoms and its currency and economy hang by a thread. It is ruled tightly by President Lukashenko with little or no political and religious freedom.

For a profile of the country we suggest the BBC website on Belarus >>

Our work in Belarus is in the capital, Minsk.

Both of our partners are working with those living with severe disabilities. The Isle of Hope provides day care respite for 57 young people, whilst the Sisters of St Elisabeth provide a range of care and services for children and young people living in a state orphanage.
