Our new children’s health centre, known as the Lighthouse Project, will be located just outside of the city of Makariv in the North West of Ukraine.  The Lighthouse, built along the lines of the Tony Hawks Centre in neighbouring Moldova, will provide a multi-disciplinary care centre for disabled and vulnerable children from across Ukraine.  The land will also provide space for respite camps, where children from the war torn Donbass region can come and stay, and play safely, away from the minefields and the noise of the artillery exchanges.

Your gift will help enable the dreams of partners in Ukraine become a reality, developing a much needed health centre for children affected by war, disability and poverty.

While the site has been bought, and approval for the development granted by the local authorities, this development will take some years to come on line.  In the meanwhile the need exists today, so a Baptist church in the heart of the city has offered our partners their below ground facilities to accommodate a start-up initiative, the Little-Lighthouse project, which will from Easter 2020 provides much needed rehabilitation care.

Your financial support will allow our partners to complete the refurbishment of the basement, to equip the multi-sensory rooms, and to start paying the health professionals who will employed.
