With the arrival of Spring, the sound of the birds fill the air and the glorious colourful flowers bloom. It is a time of awakening and light. A time when we can look forward, a time when we can be positive and be thankful to God for his protection and mercy.

Yet, even as I write this we have been advised that one of the young men who has been at Isle of Hope for many years has sadly died of Covid whilst in hospital.  This will be a very difficult time for the family, the team at Isle of Hope and his friends at the centre, many of whom will find it hard to understand the passing of their friend. More than ever, please lift them all up in your prayers at this time.

The days, weeks and months ahead will remain fragile for all of the children and families which our partners support in the way that they have stood beside them during the pandemic as described in this edition of ChildAid Matters. With Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine being far behind the UK, and even the rest of Europe, in its vaccination roll out there will still be much darkness and despair. However, our partners will continue to shine the light given through “the glory of God in the face of Christ”.

Your support during these past difficult months has been incredible and we cannot express our thanks enough. We welcome feedback or comments on how we may improve upon our communications with you, or ways in which we can help you to feel an even more integral part of our mission. Do please drop me a line with your thoughts and in meantime I wish you a happy and blessed Easter.
