Since the annexation of Crimea and the separatist’s war in the southern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, the tragic invasion of Ukraine has shocked the world.
Lives which were already difficult have become more precarious. There are a constant flow refugees and more are becoming homeless, there will be more orphans, there will be will be more suffering, there will be more hardships.
ChildAid’s partners in Ukraine and Moldova are, where it is safe and practical, already doing what they can to help and will be doing much more.
Our centres are being used as bomb shelters or refugee homes. Clothing, bedding, food, nappies, medicines are all in desperate need.
ChildAid have started to send financial support to those partners already actively attending to the needs of refugees:
- helping families who have opened their homes to refugees
- parcels of food and clothing
- sanitary and personal hygiene packs
- bedding
- help with transport to safer areas
In addition, the psychological trauma for all, especially children, needs to be addressed. Our partners will be befriending, praying with, and giving where they can fun distractions – even some children who ChildAid normally support are offering to be there for the refugees.
Your support is needed now, and will be for a long time, to prevent a generation of broken and shattered children living a life of sadness and despair.
PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY.
