There is little that can be said that has not already been said and prayed for concerning the tragic, senseless and cruel war in Ukraine. Yet we continue to pray for peace and that “nation shall not lift up sword against nation”.

I joined ChildAid 16 years ago and over that time we have seen progress in the care and treatment of vulnerable children. It will take at least that long, once the fighting ends, to again rebuild young lives and communities. The efforts being made today by our partners, supporters and countless others is monumental and from that we can at least take encouragement in the goodness within humanity.

Our Easter ChildAid Matters newsletter is much reduced and I trust that you will understand the reasons, but we also wanted to take the opportunity of reminding you that our alternative gifts will act as an even greater replacement for Easter Eggs this year. Whilst some of the gifts may take time to be delivered, each and every one will be used in the months ahead as we continue to stand by the children and families that mean so much to us all.

Our regular Prayer for Ukraine emails will continue and we shall shortly arrange another virtual prayer gathering. Thank you for being a part of this vital need for prayer, and for the incredible response to our Ukraine Emergency Aid appeal which is being used across Ukraine and in Moldova.

May your Easter be filled with blessings, peace and optimism for the future.
