Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. ” (Matt 11:28-30)

What comforts can we take as we continue to live through a global pandemic? What hopes can we hold onto?

Each of us will have a “go to” Bible verse in times of need or a good friend or relative who will be our rock in uncertain times. In these uncertain days my prayer is that above all you will receive God’s comfort.

It is the comfort of a hope for New Beginnings that our partner in western Ukraine brings to young orphans and I am delighted to bring you uplifting stories of lives transformed and hopes sprung eternal.

We also offer hope to children with disabilities in Makariv, Ukraine and our new Little Lighthouse project can benefit from proportional matched funding with your kind and generous support through our online matched funding opportunity on GivingTuesday. During the 24 hours from 5am on Tuesday 1st December please donate at where your donation can be matched (please note, use the link during that time only or send your donation to us by 27th November and we will arrange the matching process).

Again we have held our Christmas Card prices at £3 per pack and it’s not too late to put your order in. Whilst our cards are printed on responsibly sourced card and have no glitter or foil, our new e-card service can further help protect our delicate environment. Just go to MakingaDifference.Cards/supporting/childaid-to-easten-europe to find out how. And don’t forget our Alternative Christmas Gifts for a special, forever, present.

We pray that this Christmas you will receive comfort and hope.
