“When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.” (Titus 3:4-5)

This scripture appears in one of our Christmas cards this year and is so beautiful I have no hesitation in repeating it here. We are saved not because of who we are, or what we have done, or what we have given, or where we live. We are saved because our God loves us and he is full of mercy towards us.

Do we really need any other Christmas present?

This joy that we can experience, knowing that anyone who confesses Jesus as their saviour will be saved through His love, is a no-strings attached gift we can enjoy not just for one day but for eternity. And so it is for our partners and the children and young people in their care. Through bringing the joy of Christmas in whatever traditional or fun-filled way they will be doing (some of which is recounted in this seasonal edition of ChildAid Matters), they are also offering the greatest gift ever through their ministry.

A recent partners workshop in Ukraine highlighted their dedication, passion, enthusiasm and humbleness. Incredible people doing incredible work.

With blessings to you for a truly joyful Christmas.
