Elena, a volunteer at the Tony Hawks Centre in Chisinau, Moldova is once again taking part in the Chisinau International Marathon on 24th September. Last year Elena and two others walked the 21km course. This year Elena is pushing herself even more by RUNNING the whole 42km course.
Not everyone is born with the privilege of a healthy body, and mind. However, by looking after and enabling each other we can overcome disability. Elena’s focus is on those children with special needs and their parents/carers who are the real heroes, especially if you live in Republic of Moldova. They inspire her to train harder and push her limits. You simply cannot let them down. Elena firmly believes that we are all in this together.
Every cent raised will support children living with disabilities in the Republic of Moldova. The Tony Hawks Centre is the country’s foremost paediatric rehabilitation centre supporting over 600 children each year with free rehabilitation and social services.
Every donation will not only encourage Elena on each of those 42 kilometers, but will provide much needed support for the incredible team at the Tony Hawks Centre and the even more amazing children.
We are all in this together, let’s help each other and celebrate the abilities in disability.
Thank you so much.
