Located some 60km west of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, lies the town of Makariv.   ChildAid have bought two hectares (approximately three football pitches) of open and wooded land where we aim to develop a new care centre.  The centre will quickly provide space for all year round respite camps, where children from the war torn Donbass region can come a stay, play, and have fun well away from the minefields and daily artillery bombardments.  Even once this pointless war ceases, these and other children will be welcome to come and enjoy the facilities.

The facility will also be available for children living through the trauma of poverty and neglect, both from ChildAid's own partners and any other appropriate organisation, especially church groups.

Furthermore, and very much along the lines of the Tony Hawks Centre in Moldova, this land will host in time a new multi-disciplinary care centre for children with disabilities.  The intention is that it will be free for children and their parents to attend and receive the care and training needed to live full lives.
