Pray for Ukraine

It may seem that our prayers for Ukraine are not being answered as the invasion and fighting intensifies…but each and every prayer is heard.

We cling onto every piece of positive news however small and must keep fervently praying for our partners, our children, their families and the huge number of refugees.

To update on our partners:

  • Igor has sought refuge with his young family but is closely monitoring the situation in Makariv where our centre for children with disabilities is a make-shift bomb shelter
  • Whilst Alyona has moved away for the centre of the city of Kamianske she tries to get back to help our families and some of the 400 child refugees form Kharkiv, but roads and bridges are frequently closed
  • Sasha in Mukacheve is supporting the refugees who have made it through to the west of the country before they seek further safety into Hungary and Poland

In Moldova, the Tony Hawks Centre is working closely with the authorities to provide what assistance that can to the near 20,000 refugees in Chisinau. They have expressly offered support for children coming over who are living with disabilities.

Ora Moldova have closed Esther House and the other children’s centres and are converting these into accommodation for refugees.

There is a need to fund requests from refugees for onward transport as families seek to get even further away from their homeland; there is also a huge need for food parcels, hygiene packs, bedding, mattresses, medicines. The list is as endless as the flow of refugees.

We have now our appeal for support, and we welcome any donations which will go directly to our refugee work.

But, above all please earnestly and constantly pray for peace.
