We, the staff and trustees of ChildAid to Eastern Europe, all accept the Christian principles and practices the charity was founded on. It is the needs of the children (and the love of God for those children) that provides the motivation for what we do as we work alongside all denominations, faiths, and those who don’t profess a faith.

It is by no means acceptable to us that children and young people should convert to Christianity as a prerequisite of receiving help from the projects we support. Our main mission is to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ through acts of compassion.

We are however a Christian organisation, Bibles and other materials will therefore be made readily available to those who are interested and show a curiosity in our faith. Children will be told about God’s love for us and the life of Jesus Christ, but in no way should they be pressured to accept this.

Our work is an unconditional testimony to the example of Jesus Christ. We are providing a service for which we expect nothing in return. If the children in our projects come to Christ, then it is the shared opinion of both ChildAid and its partners that this will be a significant benefit to the child. For those who do not, it should not be seen as a failure on the part of the project, staff nor child.

Psalm 82v3-4 our raison d'être

Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.

Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
